Dellroy, Ohio…..

Well Ole Ferdie here has been on quite a whirl wind trek around the world and have been out of touch with the goings on at BTM Clays. Big game hunting in Nairobi (with a camera), bird hunting in Argentina, competing in many major sporting clays events on several continents have kept me away. Well, no more.

It appears that owner Skeeter Richards has done it again. By placing teams in their proper leagues the first half of the clays season is off to a rather tight race in all divisions. Only the Quail division is a little, as we say across the pond, “Is not spot on”. Two teams there seem to be able to bust more clays than the other teams. In a candid private meeting with Richards he told this old claybuster he has a problem and is not sure how to fix that division.

In the Snipe Division only 12 targets a month separated 1st to 5th place in the first half. And starting off the second half we have only 10 targets between the first 4 teams.

The Turkey Division is tighter than a bull’s butt in fly season. With only 9 targets between 1st and 4th place the first half, any team could win this division. Only goes to show….EVERY target counts.

The Grouse Division has Tipp’s Trade leading because of one month all the others team took a snooze. Their gonna be tough to catch if the other teams continue their siesta.

The Mallard Division has 2 teams battling for top honors the first half. The start of the second half has 3 teams in the hunt.

Firebird Division has the boy’s in blue or red fighting for first place using shotguns rather than handguns and fire hoses. The first half of this clay busting season was not that close, but look at those January scores…..things are heating up (a little fire humor there).

Well the Drake Division is a bit of a conundrum to this Ole shooter. How can a team jump out to a commanding 19 target lead after the September shoot and lose the first half by 50 targets?? At least the second half is looking a bit more entertaining.

The Pheasant Division saw all the teams a bit confused. Shooting well one month and then shooting like Skeeter Richards the next month..…I have witnessed his prowess with the shotgun.

One thing is clear to this reporter…...Nobody, and I mean nobody liked the December course. Although, Ole Ferdie here kinda liked it.

A few things to always remember about busting those clays here at BTM Clays. We are here to have fun. To act like gentleman. To always be good sports. Ole Ferdie here has witnessed some unbecoming behavior. And unless it ceases…it will be reported.

            So until next time………….
